Job DescriptionWe are seeking a 2nd shift shop mechanic for our Little Canada, MN office. The role involves troubleshooting, servicing, repairing, and maintaining equipment assets including vehicles, trailers, aerials, and yellow iron.
General Requirements- Practice safety rules.
- Follow verbal and written instructions.
- Safe use of hand & power tools.
- Report to and assist immediate supervisor.
- Perform quality work as determined by project specifications.
- Accountable for all tools and materials at the end of your shift.
- Must work well as part of a team.
- Availability 2:00 pm to 11:00 pm Monday through Friday.
- Use electronic diagnostic equipment to make minor and major repairs to electrical, hydraulic, air conditioning, gasoline, and diesel systems.
- Work primarily in shop conditions; mobile work and overnight travel may be required.
- Expect overtime as determined by job requirements.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while being a team member.
- Highly motivated and customer service driven.
- Adapt to changing demands and dynamic work assignments.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two‑year technical, vocational, or trade school diploma or degree in auto, truck, and/or heavy equipment desired.
- Fluid Power Society and/or ASE certifications desired.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills and effective communication. - Minimum five years verifiable experience in automotive/truck maintenance.
- High awareness of safety and compliance with company safety rules.
- Post‑offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation.
- New Hire Orientation Quiz.
- No direct threat to health or safety of workplace.
- Required job‑site safety and personal protective equipment.
- Compliance with company drug and alcohol abuse policy.
- Pass required physical examinations.
- Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, stairways, etc.
- Perform tasks such as stop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevated heights and in confined spaces.
- Carry up to 50 lbs; assistance recommended for heavier loads.
- Stand or walk for long periods and work extended hours on uneven surfaces.
- Work while wearing respirator and other personal protective equipment as required.
$25‑$40 per hour (DOE).
Work Environment- Location:
industrial construction sites and/or fabrication shop. - Mobility barriers: uneven ground, obstructed pathways, low or high elevations, confined areas.
- Climatic conditions: predominantly outdoor, exposure to extreme heat or cold, humidity, rain, etc.
