Primary

Purpose:

The Bilingual Language Proficiency Assessment Committee (LPAC) Aide supports two secondary campuses by assisting LPAC Chairpersons in ensuring compliance with state and federal guidelines for English Learners (ELLs). This role is responsible for maintaining accurate student records, facilitating language proficiency testing, and supporting data entry processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting. Additionally, the LPAC Aide provides direct support to parents, students, and staff through translation services and guidance on bilingual/ESL-related matters.

Qualifications

Education and Certification

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

  • One (1) year of clerical experience
    • Preferably in public education
  • Experience in data entry (preferred)

Knowledge and Skills

  • Bilingual proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and translating English and Spanish, with the ability to provide accurate oral and written translations in an educational setting.
  • Proficient in utilizing digital devices (personal computer, laptop, tablet, etc.) and software applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides), for document creation, data analysis, and database management.
  • Proficient in keyboarding, data entry, word processing, and file management.
  • Proficient organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to meet established deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders, including staff, students, and parents
  • Ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment when handling sensitive and confidential information.
Key Responsibilities Records Management & Compliance
  • Maintain accurate physical and computerized records related to ELL students, including progress reports, failure reports, and other pertinent documentation.
  • Ensure all LPAC documentation remains confidential and securely stored in compliance with district and state regulations.
  • Organize and update documents, files, and records (e.g., permanent files, grants, agendas) to maintain an up-to-date reference system and audit trail for compliance.
Data Entry & Verification
  • Collect, input, and update PEIMS data in the designated database.
  • Review and verify data entries to ensure compliance with established procedures.
Student Enrollment & Processing
  • Process new student records, including requesting transcripts and records from previous schools, creating and maintaining ELL digital files, entering student data into appropriate databases, and notifying the LPAC chairperson of newly enrolled students.
  • Support the registration and withdrawal process.
Support & Communication
  • Provide assistance to parents, students, and faculty by addressing Bilingual/ESL-related inquiries and delivering accurate oral and written translations as needed.
  • Administer English and Spanish language oral proficiency assessments to support accurate student placement and program eligibility.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
  • Participate in professional development, faculty/department meetings, and special events as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission and goals of the campus.
