New Grad RN Residency Med Surg

Overview

RN Residency - Med Surg with openings in Rehab, Tele, Urology, Neuro and Diabetic/Endo. Candidates should be June 2026 or prior grads and must be able to start in July, August or September 2026.

The HCA Healthcare Residency Program at Medical City Dallas is a year-long paid program designed to give you hands-on experience to establish clinical and critical thinking skills. As a Resident I Graduate Nurse you will be supported by nurse educators, experienced nurses, and fellow residents to transition from student nurse to registered nurse.

• Coordinate high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with department requirements and state/specialty standards.
• Collaborate with medical providers and care team; provide individualized, comprehensive, compassionate care using nursing models such as Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.
• Advocate for patients, families and caregivers to support an unparalleled patient experience.

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift; identify and report changes in status.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers and document care in the patient record.
• Administer medications, monitor therapeutic response, and notify provider if adverse or unintended responses occur.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs.
• Educate patients, families and caregivers about condition, status, treatment plan, medications, side effects, and follow-up; translate complex medical terminology as needed.

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of employment.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 1 year of employment.
• No previous experience required; some travel may be needed for training. Other certifications may be required during employment.
