Weekend Forming & Freezing Material Handler
Purpose of the Position This position is responsible for working in the forming & spiral freezing process, bringing the product to the auto panning system via forklift and other equipment, as necessary.
Responsibilities & Essential Functions- Produces the required quantity of batched recipes within established specifications and tolerances and according to production plan.
- Maintains logs and records of units produced including a record of errors resulting in rejected/discarded materials.
- Perform pre-operational equipment, preventative maintenance tasks, and process inspections.
- Perform quality and sanitation functions per Quality Program and Master Sanitation Schedule.
- Report maintenance and quality opportunities with shift supervisors and/or managers.
- Interface with plant ERP system to assure inventory control, lot traceability, and tracking.
- Maintains a clean, safe, orderly work area.
- Responsible to prepare combos for food use prior to staging for filling
- Monitor in process materials and foods for quality parameters during filling of the combos.
- Responsible for appropriate inventory control practices using the plant ERP System.
- Load and unload products, and input product accordingly in the plant ERP System.
- Follow protocols and procedures outlines in the operations manuals.
- Operate forklift to receive, store and bring food products in combos to the freeze dry line.
- Responsible for preparing combos for filling from the spiral freezer.
- Responsible for delivering filled combos to the auto panning system.
- Work with auto panning operators as necessary assuring they have the materials necessary to perform their job functions.
- Support other lines, as necessary.
- Finalize any paperwork during shift in an accurate, clear, and concise manner.
- Utilize ERP system for moving in-process materials and products into and out of inventory.
- Follow all quality guidelines, Master Sanitation Schedules, and maintain a food-safe, sanitary environment.
- Inspect forklift per inspection schedule and clean/upkeep equipment/forklifts as needed.
- Execute the North Freeze Dry Vision, Mission, and Values (VMV’s) at all times.
- Promote a positive, proactive environment where input from team members is valued and encouraged.
- Provide back-up support for other roles, as necessary.
- Available for overtime on a scheduled or call-in/call-back basis, as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned by the manager/supervisor.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Self‑motivated with ability to allow constructive feedback to grow in position.
- (6) months working experience in a manufacturing/production facility preferred.
- Ability to follow proper food safety, quality and workspace safety procedures and requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a team environment.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and stand for an extended period.
- Forklift experience (6+ months preferred), training provided, must be willing to obtain.
- Work well in a team environment.
- Mechanically inclined, drive yourself to continually grow and develop your role.
- Ability to adapt and accommodate change.

- Earn sick and safe time 1 hour for every 30 hours worked up to 48 hours a year.
