Overview
When you join our team as an Assistant Store Manager, you’ll take on key store management responsibilities including assisting with supervising day-to-day store activities, ensuring overall store performance, managing schedules, and developing operational action plans while identifying training opportunities to Position Type:
Full-Time Starting Wage: $25.00 per hour
Wage Increase:
Year 2 - $26.00 per hour
- Establishes and communicates job responsibilities and performance expectations
- Identifies training and development opportunities that will assist direct reports in achieving enhanced performance
- Monitors the competitive environment within the community and informs the [text incomplete]
- Participates in the interviewing process for store personnel
- Ensures store personnel adhere to inventory procedures, product handling guidelines, and cash control policies to minimize losses
- Ensures appropriate resolution of operational customer concerns regarding store equipment in proper working order
- Maintains store cleanliness standards and proper store signage at all times
- Assists the direct leader with maintaining proper stock levels and merchandises product neatly to maximize sales
- Ensures the quality and freshness of products for sale and accuracy of product listings
- Assists the direct leader with achieving the store payroll, total loss budget, inventory counts, and training new employees
- Supervises the day-to-day operations of the team, escalating issues to the leader as needed to provide the highest level of customer service
- Complies with all established company policies and procedures while upholding security and confidentiality of documents and data
- Stocks merchandise from store receiving to shelving and walks about the store to inspect conditions
- Provides and leads others to give prompt and courteous customer service that supports growth and job performance of direct reports
- Interprets and applies company policies and procedures
- Establishes goals and guides employee performance to ensure quality
- Evaluates and drives performance of self and others
- Understands and applies management principles concerning budgeting
- Operates a cash register efficiently and accurately
- Safely and properly operates equipment, including electric/manual hand jack, floor scrubber, and cardboard baler, and performs general cleaning
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Meets any state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
- A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment
- Prior management experience preferred
