About the job Senior Accountant (Hybrid)
Arkansas Talent Group is working with a Large Hospital in Little Rock
, to help them find a Senior Accountant for their organization.
This is a position that is coming available due to retirement and will report directly to an Accounting Manager. This role plays a key part in the organizations financial reporting, analysis, and compliance processes, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness in all financial statements and supporting reports. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise, advanced analytical skills, and a collaborative mindset with the ability to mentor and support staff accountants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee key aspects of the monthly and quarterly financial close process, ensuring compliance with GAAP and established timelines
- Prepare and post journal entries, review account activity, and analyze variances in the financial statements
- Develop and maintain balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules; ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, management reports, and key performance metrics
- Maintain and enhance the general ledger structure, including reviewing and approving new cost centers or account setups
- Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process through analysis, reporting, and coordination with internal departments
- Collaborate on the preparation and completion of external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting requirements
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects to enhance financial efficiency and data accuracy across the organization
- Provide mentorship, training, and support to junior accounting team members, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
Qualifications
:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field required
- Masters degree or CPA preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of public accounting or 5 years of corporate accounting experience
- Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred
- Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of general ledger systems
