Accounting Specialist

Location:

Youth Home, Inc./Behavioral Health Services of Arkansas - Little Rock, AR 72210.

Position Type:
Part Time (generally 20‑30 hours weekly). Shift: Day. Category:
Accounting.

This position works under the direction of the Finance Director and is responsible for all accounts payable functions.

• Manage accounts payable; process invoices ensuring proper account codes and cut checks according to internal control process.
• Utilize Positive Pay on the banking website.
• Reconcile corporate credit cards.
• Assist with year‑end financial audit as necessary.
• Assist with budget input as necessary.
• Maintain W‑9 file for 1099 vendors.
• Maintain accurate confidential records.
• Perform other duties as outlined by the Finance Director.

• Strong written and verbal skills; ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, patients, licensed associates and the general public.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
• Basic understanding of calculation of figures for use in payroll and accounting procedures.

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent required;
Associate degree preferred.

Experience:

Three years of accounts payable experience highly desired. Working knowledge of accounting principles required;
Quick Books experience desired.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Team members are required to sit, stand, talk, see, walk and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to personally restrain patients and maintain a current tuberculosis skin test. Occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. Noise level usually moderate.
