Staff Accountant

Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Little Rock, Arkansas. This role involves managing key financial activities and ensuring compliance with corporate tax regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and a proven ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.

The salary range will be $60,000 - $70,000 DOE along with phenomenal benefits at this well-established and respected company!

Responsibilities:

- Prepare and review corporate tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.

- Manage sales tax filings and address any related inquiries.

- Record and reconcile journal entries to maintain accurate financial records.

- Oversee the general ledger, ensuring all accounts are balanced and properly documented.

- Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support business decisions.

- Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes to meet reporting deadlines.

- Conduct regular audits to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.

- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and accounting practices to ensure compliance.

- Generate financial reports and provide analysis to support strategic planning.

Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

- Proven experience in preparing corporate tax returns and managing sales tax.

- Strong knowledge of general ledger systems and journal entry processes.

- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

- Exceptional analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.

- Ability to meet strict deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration across teams.

- Understanding of current tax laws and regulations affecting corporate accounting.
