Position: ACCOUNTING COORDINATOR

the accounting coordinator will manage financial records, prepare financial reports, ensure compliance with established procedures, and coordinate with other departments to maintain accurate and efficient financial operations.

The position is responsible for providing guidance and support to accounting staff and assisting management in making informed financial decisions.

Provide oversight and guidance to junior accounting staff, ensuring proper training and adherence to accounting procedures and policies. Work with auditors to provide necessary information and respond to audit inquiries.

knowledge and skills

solid knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting processes. Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights for decision-making. Proficiency in managing accounts payable and receivable processes and verifying financial transactions. Understanding of state and federal financial regulations and ability to ensure adherence to these standards. Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., People soft, quickbooks, microsoft excel) and other financial management tools.

minimum

qualifications

a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university, plus 3 years of accounting experience.

Promotion to the next classification level is at the discretion of the department and the office of personnel management, taking into consideration the employee’s demonstrated skills, competencies, performance, workload responsibilities, and organizational needs.
