This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional seeking diverse exposure across both tax and audit engagements while working with a wide range of clients and industries.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations
- Assist with tax planning strategies to ensure compliance and optimize client outcomes
- Perform audit and assurance procedures for privately held companies, nonprofits, and other client entities
- Participate in financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations from planning through completion
- Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies, risks, and opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate directly with clients to gather information, address questions, and provide ongoing support
- Conduct technical research on tax and accounting matters and apply findings to client engagements
- Stay current on tax law changes, GAAP, and auditing standards
- Work closely with firm leadership to manage engagement timelines and deliverables
- Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Maintain strong client relationships through consistent communication and high-quality service
- Assist with special projects and additional responsibilities as needed
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- CPA license required or actively pursuing, with at least one exam passed
- 2-6+ years of public accounting experience with exposure to both tax and audit
- Strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations and auditing standards
- Experience preparing returns across multiple entity types (individual, partnership, corporate)
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and a client-focused mindset
