Job Summary:
The Accountant prepares, analyzes and reviews financial statements using accounting principles in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and enterprise allocation methods.
- Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. - Finance degree: successful completion of Intermediate Accounting I & II required.
- Licensing/Certification: CPA preferred.
- Experience:
Minimum three (3) years' accounting experience, or applicable Master’s in a related field with minimum one (1) year of experience.

- Analyze and review financial statements for completeness, accuracy, and compliance.
- Assist in special projects, as directed.
- Assist with financial reporting audits, working with internal audits, the Arkansas Insurance Department, independent auditors, and/or Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association.
- Perform advanced accounting functions, including preparation of journal entries, coding of invoices, accounting analysis and reconciliation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Prepare supporting financial data as required.
- Reconcile, confirm, and maintain general ledger accounts.
- Review the work of peers, providing coaching and mentoring to less experienced accountants.
