Controller, Accounting, Financial Compliance

Description

A respected Arkansas nonprofit organization is seeking an experienced Controller to provide leadership across accounting, financial reporting, payroll, compliance, and internal controls. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting leader who enjoys combining technical expertise, strategic thinking, and team leadership while helping drive long-term organizational success.

The salary range for this position is $85,000 - $92,500 and includes exceptional insurance benefits, strong retirement offerings, and long-term career growth.

Key Responsibilities

+ Lead day-to-day accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and financial reporting operations

+ Ensure accurate and timely financial statements, audit support, and regulatory reporting

+ Maintain compliance with GAAP and applicable accounting standards

+ Develop and strengthen internal controls, financial policies, and process improvement initiatives

+ Partner with executive leadership to provide financial analysis and strategic recommendations

+ Oversee general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and financial reporting functions

+ Support internal and external audit processes

+ Mentor and develop accounting staff while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

Requirements

Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

+ Four or more years of progressive accounting or financial management experience

+ Strong accounting, financial reporting, and compliance background

+ Proven leadership and team development experience

+ Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills

Experience with in nonprofit, government, higher education, or other complex organizational environments
