The Anderson Search Group has been engaged by a repeat client, a top Super-Community Bank, to identify an experienced VP, Accounts Payable Manager to lead its Accounts Payable function and team in Little Rock.
This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable or Accounting professional who has successfully managed and developed teams, improved processes, driven automation, and operated effectively in a high-volume environment
.
The organization is particularly interested in a leader who can evaluate existing processes, identify opportunities for greater efficiency and automation, and continue moving the Accounts Payable function toward touchless invoice processing for high-volume vendors
.
- Lead the organization's Accounts Payable function and team.
- Manage, train, mentor and coach employees while creating a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Drive Accounts Payable process improvement and automation initiatives
. - Lead efforts toward touchless invoice processing for high-volume vendors.
- Ensure invoices and payments are processed accurately and on time.
- Oversee vendor statement reconciliation and vendor setup/modifications.
- Partner closely with Accounting on day-to-day activities and the monthly close process.
- Analyze AP workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, controls and resource utilization.
- Maintain and enhance Accounts Payable policies, procedures and documentation.
- Ensure adherence to company travel policies and applicable governmental and regulatory requirements.
- Review payments for accuracy and ensure expenditures are charged to the appropriate accounts.
- Perform and oversee analysis of Accounts Payable data.
- Maintain vendor W-9 documentation and oversee annual 1099 preparation.
- Support examination and audit inquiries.
- 10+ years of Accounts Payable and/or Accounting experience required.
- 5+ years of direct supervisory/management experience required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline, or commensurate professional experience.
- Demonstrated success leading and developing an Accounts Payable team
. - Strong understanding of accounting principles, Accounts Payable controls and best practices.
- Experience driving process improvement, automation and operational efficiencies
. - Ability to analyze complex financial information and make sound independent decisions.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with modern accounting/AP platforms required;
Workday Financials experience is strongly preferred
.
This position is onsite in Little Rock, Arkansas
. Candidates must currently reside within commuting distance or be willing to relocate.
