Arkansas Talent Group is searching for a permanent part-time Bookkeeper/Office Administrator for our long-term small business client in Little Rock. This is anon-site position (20–30 hours per week, depending on needs) that supports both bookkeeping and office administration for a small, privately held company with several business entities. You will work closely with an experienced Controller to support daily accounting functions while helping keep the office running smoothly.
This is a new role added to help strengthen the accounting and administrative bench as this person will learn all roles and will be a backup for current employees, and be able to jump in wherever there is a need.
The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, enjoys learning different aspects of a business, and is looking for a long-term home with a stable, close-knit team. This position may grow into a 40-hour-per-week role over time in the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processing and data entry.
- Prepare bank deposits, reconcile accounts, and support month-end close activities.
- Assist with payroll preparation and updates to employee information.
- Maintain accurate financial records in Peachtree (Sage 50) accounting software, including general ledger entries and transaction posting.
- Communicate with vendors and customers regarding billing, payments, and account questions.
- Handle general office administration including answering phones, managing mail, greeting visitors, and ordering office supplies.
- Maintain organized electronic and paper filing systems and company records.
- Provide cross-training support and backup coverage for other office staff as needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounting support, and office administration is required(small multi-entity business highly desired).
- Working knowledge of Peachtree / Sage 50 or similar accounting software is highly desired
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and follow through independently.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion when handling confidential information.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- On-site position only (no remote work).
- Schedule:
20–30 hours per week, with the potential to expand to 40 hours in the future. - Compensation: $24–$28 per hour, depending on experience.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a credit and background check, due to the financial responsibilities of the role.
