The RoleYou’ll be at the forefront of Apptegy’s growth into a new vertical: municipal government. You’ll engage with city and county leaders who are looking for better ways to communicate with residents, manage digital content, and respond to community needs. These buyers often work across departments and may be navigating budget cycles and RFPs, giving you the opportunity to serve as a true consultant throughout the sales process.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Drive new business by leading virtual product demonstrations and closing deals with municipal and public-sector organizations, including cities, counties, and townships.
- Conduct consultative discovery conversations and customized demos with key decision-makers, including Communications Directors, City Managers, PIOs, and IT leaders, to uncover needs and influence buying decisions.
- Tailor messaging and sales collateral to resonate with government priorities like public safety, accessibility, transparency, and civic engagement.
- Navigate budget approvals, purchasing procedures, and timelines unique to the public sector.
- Build trusted relationships with prospective clients and generate referral momentum in municipal networks.
- You have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience and a strong record of achievement.
- 1-3 years of experience in SaaS sales
- Prior experience selling into government (municipal, state, or federal).
- You’re a skilled communicator who can gain buy-in from diverse stakeholder groups.
- You’re curious and proactive in learning how different government departments operate.
- You’re comfortable navigating longer sales cycles and public-sector buying processes.
- Salary starting from $60,000 - $75,000 per year
- Plus commission pay
