Job SummaryYou will be expected to negotiate terms and conditions on contracts for construction procurement for awarded projects. Your role will have a heavy focus on developing, reviewing and negotiating contracts with subcontractors, vendors, services, and suppliers from start to finish on all agreement types.
Key Responsibilities- Able to communicate via phone and/or email to solve problems quickly.
- Analyze and understand prime and subcontract insurance certificates; interact with contract administrators to ensure appropriate evidence of insurance coverage is provided prior to contract execution.
- Maintain a detailed and organized work ethic to help facilitate reviews and ensure items progress promptly.
- Develop contracts using our ln Eight system.
- In cooperation with the legal department, assist in negotiating the terms and conditions of agreements, and document and agree on any required changes or amendments.
- Negotiate with subcontractors and vendors when required.
- Assists in establishing, negotiating, and ensuring compliance with the terms of Sundt's agreements.
- Support procurement staff meetings and provide legal communication to the team as needed.
- Drafts subcontracts and purchase orders for construction projects; knowledge of unit‑price contracts is beneficial.
- Understand construction estimates and budgets.
Job Requirements
- Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or as part of a team.
- Four‑year Engineering, Construction Management degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience of 5 or more years.
- Experience with ln Eight software is highly encouraged.
- Past experience as an Engineer, Project Manager, or Estimator is desired but not required.
- Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.
- Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete tasks within given deadlines.
- May stoop, kneel, or bend on an occasional basis.
- Must comply with all safety standards and procedures.
- Use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis.
- Interact with people and technology frequently during a shift or work day.
- Lift, push, or pull objects up to 50 lbs on an occasional basis.
- Sit, stand, or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift or work day.
- Use telephone, computer system, email, and other electronic devices frequently to communicate with internal and external customers or vendors.
