Job Summary:

The Social Content Designer helps bring the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts brand to life through audience-focused designs for social platforms and various projects. Working from concept through execution, this role creates on-brand social media content, writes compelling captions, moderates social platform engagement, and stays current on platform trends. The Social Content Designer also develops audience-facing materials across digital and print formats.

As a highly collaborative role, the Social Content Designer works with the Chief Communications Officer, Creative Director, Communications Director, Designer, and additional department members to steward AMFA’s brand presence.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with other duties as assigned.

Job Specific Social Media Content Planning, Design, & Management Design and produce platform-appropriate content, including graphics and other digital assets.

Capable of basic videography and editing for social platforms.

Write and edit captions in AMFA’s voice, adapting messaging for different platforms and audiences.

Schedule content across all social platforms based on the social content calendar.

Monitor platform trends to identify relevant opportunities for AMFA.Moderate community chats by responding to comments and messages, applying moderation guidelines, and escalating sensitive matters when appropriate.

Review content performance and use audience insights to strengthen future creative work.

Maintain monthly analytics report.

Digital and Print Design Design audience-facing materials across digital and print formats while maintaining AMFA’s visual identity and brand standards.

Adapt, organize, and resize creative assets for various platforms, placements, and audiences.

Prepare accurate, production-ready files and coordinate revisions, approvals, and delivery.

Collaborate with the Creative Director and Designer to ensure consistency and quality across projects.

Additional Marketing, Communications, and Membership Support Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience3-5 years of design experience

Social media experience is required

Must possess strong interpersonal skills

Have the flexibility to balance a fast-paced work environment

Maintain a collaborative mindset to reach project goals

Stay patient through an iterative revision process and listen to feedback

Familiar with Microsoft Word and Outlook Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Adobe Illustrator, and Canva Familiar with project management systems, such as Monday Portfolio of relevant work must be submitted

Ability to regularly sit for extended periods (up to five hours) while performing administrative duties, including planning, scheduling, and computer-based work.

Ability to regularly stand for prolonged periods (up to five hours) during events, including setup, execution, and breakdown activities.

Ability to regularly walk frequently throughout event spaces, offices, and outdoor venues, sometimes over uneven surfaces.

Climbing Stairs:
Ability to regularly ascend and descend stairs multiple times during the workday, as required by event venues and office locations.
