The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) is accepting applications for a full-time, non-invasive cardiologist at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the Clinical Attending/Clinical Educator pathways. UAMS is the state’s only academic center with a rapidly growing Cardiovascular program. The Cardiology Division consists of 15 staff Cardiologists, 18 fellows (12 general, 3 Interventional, 2 Electrophysiology fellows, 1 structural imaging fellow) and 9 advanced practice providers who provide state of the art cardiac services including structural cardiology, cardiac electrophysiology, and advanced heart failure.

  • Clinical responsibilities include ambulatory clinics (both in Little Rock and surrounding areas); inpatient Cardiology ward and consultative services and cardiac imaging (echocardiography and for those interested, nuclear Cardiology, cardiac CT and MRI)
  • Participate in education of medical students, residents, and Cardiology fellows
  • Clinical research opportunities are available for those interested/
  • 6. Call frequency – 1:7 weekends with fellow support

  • Practice highlights:

  • Busy inpatient primary Cardiology ward team and consult services
  • Robust outpatient clinics both in Little Rock and surrounding areas
  • Busy echocardiography laboratory with expertise in all forms of advanced echocardiography including 3D echo, strain and structural echocardiography
  • Collaborative practice with Radiology in Nuclear Cardiology, cardiac CT and cardiac MRI
  • Dedicated closed CVICU and a growing structural, ECMO and cardiac surgery program

  • Completion of an ACGME accredited Cardiology fellowship
  • Board certified or board eligible in Cardiology
  • COCATS level 2 training (or above) in all aspects of echocardiography.
