Job Duties:
This full-time, non-tenure-track Instructor position includes teaching in developmental, first-year, and intermediate composition; contributing to curricula and assessment; and participating in departmental, college, and university service and governance. This position may include teaching face-to-face and/or online. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy. Qualifications:
Required Education & Experience
* Master's degree in Rhetoric and Composition, Writing Studies, Technical Communication and/or Professional Writing, Creative Nonfiction, Public Administration, English, or other related discipline.
Preferred Education & Experience
* Prior composition teaching experience with an emphasis on first-year students;
* Experience teaching diverse populations of students;
* Organizational, written, and oral communication skills;
* Professional writing experience;
* Online or hybrid experience.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
* Teaching in-person and online;
* Work positively with faculty, staff, students, and the community;
* Participate in department, university, and community service and governance including service on the department's Composition Committee, as well as assessment and professional development;
* Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Teaching experience in a college setting.
* Ability to teach composition courses face-to-face and online;
* Demonstrate a commitment to student retention and success.
