Summary of

Job Duties:

Extra Help/Orientation Leaders serve as representatives of the college who have energetic and positive attitudes about UA Little Rock and the college experience. They serve as role models for incoming college students. Specific duties are designated by the department hiring manager to include but are not limited to customer service, campus tours, and public speaking. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

* Degree-seeking UA Little Rock student enrolled in classes at the time of application;

* Currently classified as a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior;

* Must obtain a 2.5 cumulative GPA at the time of application;

* Eligible to legally work 20 hours per week in the United States;

* Ability to work a flexible schedule.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

* Serve as representatives of the college;

* Energetic and positive attitudes about UA Little Rock and the college experience;

* Serve as role models for incoming college students;

* Specific duties are designated by the department hiring manager to include but are not limited to customer service, campus tours, and public speaking.

Knowledge, abilities, and skills:

* Knowledge of UA Little Rock as a whole including campus buildings, operations, academic colleges, campus events, student services;

* Serving as a concierge to all students and guests who are transitioning to UA Little Rock;

* Orientation Leaders are required to participate in all sessions for traditional first-year students, transfer students, non-traditional students, parents, and guests held during their period of employment;

* Maintain a professional, present, and engaged demeanor while in the Orientation Leader role;

* Ability to answer common questions regarding Admissions, Financial Aid, and other student services offices;

* Knowledge and understanding of the FERPA Privacy Act;

* Ability to conduct campus tours;

* Proficient public speaking skills.
