Extra Help Assistant/Learning Assistant
UA Little Rock is seeking to hire an Extra Help Assistant/Learning Assistant. Learning Assistant duties include assisting course instructors with designing, implementing, disseminating, and revising evidence-based teaching practices in their courses. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.
QualificationsRequired Education and/or
Experience:
- Some college experience.
Preferred Education and/or
Experience:
- They must have successfully completed qualifying STEM courses for which they are applying to be Learning Assistants, unless otherwise approved by the course instructor.
- Assist course instructors in designing evidence-based teaching practices for the course instructors' classes;
- Assist course instructors in implementing evidence-based teaching practices in the course instructor's class (either in class, workshop, or lab);
- Meet with the course instructor at least once a week to provide feedback and plan for the next week's tasks;
- Guide students in the course instructor's class as they learn course material.

- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively;
- Ability to creatively solve problems;
- Ability to work as part of a team;
- Ability to receive, apply, and provide constructive feedback.
Salary Information: $13/hour
