Position: LEA Supervisor/TEACHER (Special Education Supervisor Certification Required - Arkansas)

We seek a certified Special Education Supervisor/Teacher (LEA Supervisor) who demonstrates integrity, resilience, and strong leadership. The ideal candidate is flexible, coachable, and committed to ensuring equitable educational outcomes for all students.

Responsibilities
  • Compliance and Case Management
    • Serve as the Local Education Agency (LEA) representative for all IEP, 504, and manifestation determination meetings.
    • Develop, implement, and monitor the district-wide system for case management and compliance for all students receiving special education and related services.
    • Conduct transfer conferences, reevaluations, and annual reviews in accordance with IDEA, ADE Special Education Guidelines, and federal regulations.
    • Ensure all required documents, data entries, and progress reports are complete, accurate, and uploaded into the district’s electronic IEP platform.
    • Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure procedural safeguards are followed for all students.
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Supervise, train, and support special education teachers, paraprofessionals, and service providers in implementing IEPs, modifications, and accommodations.
    • Coordinate and oversee state and district assessments for students with disabilities and those receiving 504 accommodations.
    • Supports the Response to Intervention (RTI) and Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) processes, ensuring alignment with state requirements.
    • Manage and evaluate third-party contractors providing related services (Speech, OT, PT, Psychological, Counseling, etc.), ensuring service fidelity and documentation compliance.
  • Instructional and Program Development
    • Support teachers through demonstration lessons, classroom observations, coaching, and collaborative problem-solving.
    • Provide direct instruction to students on Caseload.
    • Assist in developing personalized learning plans aligned with Arkansas Academic Standards and evidence-based instructional practices.
    • Use data to evaluate student progress and the effectiveness of instructional programs, interventions, and behavior plans.
    • Ensure academic and behavioral supports are integrated with the school’s emotional intelligence framework.
  • Family and Community Engagement
    • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with parents, guardians, and community agencies to support student success.
    • Coordinate communication between families, external agencies, and the school team to align services and supports.
    • Participate in family engagement events and provide parent training sessions related to special education rights and processes.
  • Data and Reporting
    • Monitor and submit required ADE reports including Child Count, State Performance Plan indicators, and monitoring reports by established deadlines.
    • Collaborate with school leaders to ensure timely and accurate reporting of student progress and compliance indicators.
    • Maintain all documentation and program files to meet federal and state audit standards.
  • Professional Expectations
    • Engage in ongoing professional learning to stay current with state and federal regulations, instructional practices, and compliance expectations.
    • Model high standards of ethical conduct, professional accountability, and advocacy for students with disabilities.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee to support district-wide compliance and instructional excellence.
Qualifications
  • Must hold a valid Arkansas Special Education Supervisor Certification or Supervisor (Special Education) endorsement (Code 341 or equivalent under ADE guidelines).
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in special education teaching, supervision, or administration.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and Arkansas state and federal compliance regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and collaborate effectively with educators, families, and service providers.
