Job Duties
UA Little Rock is seeking to hire an Extra Help Assistant/Learning Assistant. Learning Assistant duties include assisting course instructors with designing, implementing, disseminating, and revising evidence‑based teaching practices in their courses. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.
Qualifications- Required
Education:
Some college experience. - Preferred Education:
Successfully completed qualifying STEM courses for which they are applying to be Learning Assistants, unless otherwise approved by the course instructor.
- Assist course instructors in designing evidence‑based teaching practices for the course instructors’ classes.
- Assist course instructors in implementing evidence‑based teaching practices in the course instructor’s class (either in class, workshop, or lab).
- Meet with the course instructor at least once a week to provide feedback and plan for the next week’s tasks.
- Guide students in the course instructor’s class as they learn course material.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Ability to creatively solve problems.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to receive, apply, and provide constructive feedback.
