Job Duties:
The Scholarly Communication Librarian is a dynamic, forward-thinking professional responsible for leading the library’s efforts to support the lifecycle of scholarly research. This newly created role will spearhead the management and growth of the university’s institutional repository and advocate for open access and open education, helping faculty and students maximize their academic success. This position holds a 12-month faculty appointment with rank leading to tenure.
This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.

- A master’s degree in library and information science from an ALA-accredited program.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the adoption, growth, and strategic management of Scholar Hub@UALittle
Rock, positioning the institutional repository as a vital hub for the university’s scholarly output;Supervise a staff member in the digital preservation of research outputs within the institutional repository;
Manage institutional open access funds, oversee read & publish agreements, and advise faculty on open access publishing pathways;
Provide consultations to faculty and students on scholarly communication issues, including publishing options, licensing agreements, and author rights, profiles and research impact.;
Create and deliver educational programs, workshops, and online instructional content related to scholarly communication issues;
Collaborate with liaison librarians and campus stakeholders to promote open scholarship and repository participation;
Collaborate with liaison librarians, faculty and campus stakeholders on the inclusion of affordable course content and open educational resources (OER) into courses;
Engage in ongoing professional development to build expertise in scholarly communication and digital scholarship;
Participate in professional scholarship and service consistent with an appointment as a tenure-track faculty member;
Work occasional evening and weekend hours to support instructional sessions and/or library events;
Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
