- Manages and coordinates the daily operations of the libraries’ resources, facilities, and services
- Supervises staff members in Access Services, Interlibrary Loan, and IT support
- Serves as acting director in the director’s absence
- Coordinates the format review and processing of dissertations and interacts with the graduate school, colleges, and registrar’s office
- Provides support for the virtual bookstore by assisting faculty/students with book adoptions while serving as a liaison with the registrar’s office
- Collaborates and provides support to the Education and Research Services’ team to ensure a positive user experience with electronic resources, ILS, and link resolver
- Assists in the assessment and development of long-range planning for resources and services
- Participates in the development and review of library policies and procedures
- Aids branding, marketing, and promotion of library services and programs
- Coordinates the collection and reporting of library statistics to regional and national agencies
- Commitment to continuing professional development, scholarly activity, and professional service
- Perform other duties as assigned
- ALA‑accredited master’s degree in library/information science
- Seven (7) years of professional experience in an academic and/or health sciences library
- Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to be flexible and creative in response to changing needs and priorities
- Adept at collaborating with a broad range of faculty, staff, and students
- Demonstrated commitment to embracing diverse backgrounds, values, and points of view, and supporting an inclusive educational and employment environment
- Strong understanding of academic library standards, policies, and procedures
- Preferred Qualifications:
Education and/or experience in life sciences - Knowledge of health sciences information resources to support medical education, scholarship, and patient care
- Strong user-focused public services orientation
- Familiarity with electronic resource licensing, library management systems, and related technologies
- Experience with applications that support or enhance online learning environments (e.g. Lib Guides)
Demonstrates expertise in managing library operations, staff supervision, and user-focused services while fostering collaboration and inclusivity within academic environments. Proficient in library management systems and electronic resources to enhance educational support.
