Senior Process Engineer - Plastic Injection Manufacturing - Base Salary to 100k/year - Little Rock, AR
Our client, a very well-established, global, publicly traded Production and Distribution Company is currently seeking a Senior Process Engineer (internally titled Senior Plastics Injection Molding Engineer) with expertise in Plastic Injection Molding.
- The Senior Process Technician will process optimization, troubleshooting, & validation for 180T to 1500T plastic molding machines including ability to coach and train technicians, specialists, and engineers.
- This role will require 40% travel between Little Rock, AR and Shawnee, OK – this role can be based in either location with travel to the other.
- Provide guidance and support for the injection molding production network.
- Implement & standardize best practices and continuous improvement initiatives across all injection molding sites.
- Support sites in cost reduction, quality improvement, etc.
- Develop and drive professional training in Injection Molding.
- Foster collaboration, sharing knowledge, and driving innovation.
- Provide technical support in procurement of injection molding machines.
- Support sites in mold concept design, shrinkage and mold qualification.
- Explore Injection Molding technology trends & innovations.
- Perform feasibility tests for new technologies and processes.
- Train / mentor Manufacturing, Process and Maintenance personnel.
- Help maintain a seamless transition of new molds and new equipment.
- Maintain a safe work environment adhering to all safety regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics/Polymer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related; equivalent work experience considered.
- 10+ years of hands‑on experience in Injection Molding Process Engineering required.
- Experience with semi‑crystalline and amorphous plastics and ability to process materials through various types (makes) of injection molding machines;
Vinyl plastics (PVC, CPVC) and Polyolefins a plus. - Experience in troubleshooting and optimizing plastic processing, including shrinkage management, mold qualification, post‑molding operations, auxiliary equipment integration, and product testing.
- Understanding of Tool & Mold Design & methods for mass production.
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis techniques.
- Excellent communication skills with all levels within the organization including cross‑functional teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, NX and/or Solid Works, Moldflow.
- Ability to use measurement equipment to include calipers, micrometers, etc.
- Ability to travel 40% or more.
- Ability to work in a high‑volume manufacturing environment lifting up to 50lbs. on occasion.
- Base salary in the 85k - 100k/year range
- $100,000 per year
