please note: this position is located in illinois. Relocation will be required for this position. All interested candidates must be able to work on-site and relocate for the position.

the engineering manager will oversee and coordinate the daily operations of a highly skilled engineering team while ensuring company objectives and goals are met.

job summary

this person would be responsible for leading 3-4 employees and will directly oversee the engineering department. This is a hands‑on role, and the engineering manager will perform the following duties:

  • provides hands‑on support with engineering project requirements.
  • leads and coordinates various engineering functions and operations including quality assurance, sales support, production support, and development of new and existing product lines.
  • facilitates communication among clients/customers and engineers, ensuring specifications, and deadlines are clearly communicated and understood.
  • ensures projects comply with specifications, timelines, and elevator code.
  • reviews work and projects for technical accuracy.
  • establishes, implements, and maintains administrative policies, procedures, and standards.
  • maintains knowledge of new trends, developments, technologies, materials, and best practices; applies this knowledge to continually improve product lines and production efficiency.
required skills & abilities
  • strong knowledge of elevator codes and compliance requirements.
  • must have prior experience working in accordance with asme 17.1 elevator codes and excellent problem‑solving skills.
  • innovative with a “think outside the box” mentality.
  • proficient with utilizing autocad software.
  • thorough understanding of engineering theory and design criteria.
  • thorough understanding of applied math and physics.
  • excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • proficient with microsoft office suite or related software.
education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience leading an engineering team.
  • bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field required.
