Description

In this role, you won't just analyze data - you'll help design and improve the processes that allow emerging energy resources to support grid reliability and market performance. Working closely with operations, settlements, and cross‑functional stakeholders, you'll turn insights into action that strengthens the resilience and efficiency of the bulk power system.

This is a high‑impact opportunity to influence how the grid evolves while ensuring today's markets run smoothly and effectively.

What You'll Do
  • Lead the design and administration of end‑to‑end processes supporting DR, DER, and LMR participation in MISO capacity and energy markets
  • Perform statistical, operational, and economic analyses on market performance, pricing, participant behavior, and supply‑demand dynamics
  • Identify market inefficiencies, anomalies, and improvement opportunities related to flexible and distributed resource participation
  • Conduct measurement and verification of DR, DER, and LMR performance, including compliance with testing requirements
  • Evaluate resource capabilities for accreditation, market offers, participation data, and response performance during grid events
  • Support and engage with stakeholders in the development of new market design initiatives and participation models as the industry evolves
  • Perform post‑event and post‑implementation assessments of new products, rule changes, and operational events
  • Communicate analysis, insights, and recommendations to internal teams and stakeholders to build alignment and drive key initiatives forward
Why This Role Matters

If you're motivated by complex problem‑solving, data‑driven decision‑making, and the opportunity to shape the future of energy, this role offers both challenge and purpose.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, or Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology.

  • Specific experience within any of the following:
    • Energy market forecasting and analysis
    • Power system analysis and operation and associated software development
    • Statistical and econometrics analysis
    • Market design
    • Optimization algorithms
  • Working knowledge of data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., R, Eviews, SAS, Python, VBA, Tableau)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree.
  • Previous deregulated wholesale electricity market or utility experience.

The appropriate level will be determined based on experience and knowledge.

This is an exciting opportunity to combine deep technical expertise with big-picture strategy - helping guide the energy industry toward a reliable, sustainable, and economically efficient future.
