Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Engineering
As a Process Engineer at Baxter Healthcare Corporation, you will play a pivotal role in Injection Molding and Device operations, driving continuous improvement, business initiatives, and capacity expansion projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Build and modify precision assembly and/or manufacturing equipment.
- Manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
- Prepare accurate estimates for various tasks and projects.
- Coordinate capital projects, directly and through coordinating engineers.
- Drive continuous improvement activities across the department.
- Collaborate with plant and corporate groups, contractors, and vendors.
- Coordinate the initiation, troubleshooting, and commissioning phases for new manufacturing processes.
- Manage equipment life‑cycle processes such as upgrades, replacement, and decommissioning.
- Perform product life‑cycle management tasks, including build changes, material changes, Supplier Notice of Change assessments, and specification changes.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting to all plant departments.
- Demonstrate proactive communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Support and achieve Value Improvement Projects (VIPs).
- Adhere to FDA Design Control standards and maintain all department operational guidelines.
- Generate technical documents, reports, equipment specifications, and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Computer Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years in Engineering or Manufacturing required; experience in FDA manufacturing is helpful.
- Preferred experience with automation controls, automated assembly, control systems, PLCs, HMIs, servos, and vision inspection systems.
- Proficiency in software used to build models (e.g., AutoCAD, Solid Works) is preferred.
- Six Sigma Master Black Belt Certification or industry‑standard equivalent is preferred.
- Experience in plastic injection molding is advantageous.
- Project Management skills and experience, including familiarity with Microsoft Project, are a plus.
- Experience and skills in Lean Manufacturing are helpful.
Estimated base salary: $76,000 – $95,000 annually. The range is subject to change based on market data and other factors. The position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
