Geotechnical Engineer
You will serve as Geotechnical Engineer to coordinate investigations, analyses, and design of earthen dams, levees, excavations, tunneling, de-watering, instrumentation, building foundations, and other highly complex projects.
You will review geotechnical sites for design suitability and geotechnical design considerations.
You will prepare quality assurance and design reports for structures or foundations for preliminary investigations, survey reports, general design, final design, risk assessments, and Dam Safety Reports.
You will review a variety of historic documents which include memoranda, foundation design reports, and contract specifications for soil, rock, and other foundation features of projects.
You will make field trips to investigate foundation preparations, earthwork construction, paving, cofferdams, and drainage problems of major civil projects.
You will plan layout, details, and installation of physical measurement devices which include piezometers, settlement gages, pressure gages, tilt-meters, inclinometers, uplift gages, etc.
