Job Overview
Puget Sound Energy (PSE) seeks a qualified Energy Management Engineer I to support its customer energy management and renewables team. The role involves managing efficiency projects for business customers across PSE’s energy‑efficiency programs, including Clean Buildings Accelerator and other tariffed electric and gas conservation schedules. Work arrangements will be discussed during the interview process.
Responsibilities- Provide technical and project management functions for customer projects, producing sustainable energy savings through energy audits of building systems.
- Analyze facility energy‑usage patterns, conduct energy‑use modeling, evaluate the applicability of efficiency measures, recommend improvements, and perform final inspections of completed projects.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by managing expectations, communicating status, and outlining next steps.
- Implement market‑centric programs and related tariffs to enhance energy‑saving outcomes.
- Implement projects and programs while ensuring compliance with all financial procedures and assist in developing new or revised department policy proposals.
- Consult with stakeholders on technical, regulatory policy, and financial analyses.
- Monitor the development and market acceptance of new energy technologies.
- Support emergency response work as requested.
- Perform any other duties assigned.
- Bachelor of Science degree in electrical, mechanical, civil, or other appropriate engineering discipline.
- 0–3 years of experience in engineering design, specification preparation, technical field work, or system studies. Non‑engineering experience may be considered.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated project and/or program management skills.
- Customer service experience.
- Familiarity with the Clean Buildings Performance Standard (HB1257).
- Familiarity with energy benchmarking in Energy Star Portfolio Manager.
- Utility energy‑efficiency project experience.
- Progress toward CEM credentials.
- Competitive compensation: $69,600.00–$ with eligibility for annual goals‑based incentive bonuses.
