Wall Industries manufactures and markets a full line of DC‑DC converters and AC‑DC power supplies with an emphasis on modified standard and customized power solutions.
Responsibilities- Responsible for 100% of the design generation of power supplies from inception to final product.
- Design from documentation supplied by customers and/or internal specification.
- Interface with Sales/Marketing and customers as required.
- Generate preliminary documentation for fabrication of prototype models (may include fabricating, testing, troubleshooting, and repairing analog and digital circuits).
- Test product models—whether actual or prototype (breadboard)—to environmental conditions to establish operational stability, reliability and conformity to design.
- Work will be performed using oscilloscopes, voltage meters, electronic loads, bench‑top power supplies, test fixtures, environmental ovens and other electronic associated equipment.
- Prototyping will include recommending, designing and possibly fabricating fixtures, tools and equipment for the manufacture of the product.
- Generate instructional information for the manufacturer of the product being transferred from engineering to manufacturing.
- Follow ISO policy and procedures throughout all work performed.
- Make effective and efficient use of all resources, including inventory material, supplies, tools and tooling equipment.
- Consult supervisor when unusual conditions exist and safety issues arise.
- Maintain necessary records, files and reports for the immediate supervisor.
- Practice good housekeeping in your area.
- Properly maintain equipment in good working order, including reporting un‑calibrated equipment.
- Follow established company rules and regulations.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Interface with other departments, vendors, and manufacturers as required.
- Education: Four‑year degree in Electronics preferred or 6+ years in power supply industry experience.
- Experience: Three years experience or equivalent experience as design engineer of power conversion circuits. ISO experience a plus.
- Skills: Must be completely familiar with advanced analog design techniques including magnetic design and theory, power supply layout and packaging including verification of CAD-generated documentation, power applications and interpretation of system power specification, component engineering including stress factor analysis, manufacturing techniques related to power supply manufacturer, agency approvals: UL, CSA, VDE, TUV. Capable of making logical sequential steps in performance of work and requiring a minimum of supervision and direction.
