Job Summary /

Purpose:

Responsible for supporting the Enterprise Environmental Services team with the development and implementation of processes required to ensure compliance with environmental laws and regulations. This role will provide support to Entergy's growth strategy through proactive engagement and environmental risk management. This role will help Entergy achieve its sustainability goals by driving world class performance in environmental management, approvals management, regulatory compliance and related programs.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Assist in analyzing existing, proposed and newly-adopted environmental laws, regulations and policies, developing regulatory guidance, preparing company perspectives in order to help operationalize requirements, communicating potential issues and opportunities internally and externally in support of compliance and continuous improvement
  • Support the preparation, review, and submittal of environmental reports, plans and permit applications
  • Assist with preparation and presentation of environmental training
  • Assist plants in ensuring regulatory compliance, assessing compliance performance, and developing action plans for continuous improvement
  • Conduct desktop environmental impact evaluations of Entergy projects including: A review applicable information from Maximo or other project information. Coordination with project contacts/vendors for information requests. Initial desktop ecological impact evaluations to identify permit acquisition needs associated with applicable environmental regulations (air, water, storm water general/industrial permit, wetlands, natural resources, local/county)
  • Support Phase I and II due diligence investigations associated with real estate transactions. Identify and/or provide support to technological/ process improvements. Communicate issues by presentations and writing and distributing concise, timely and accurate summaries, reviewing routine reports for project management and leadership, and negotiating with state/federal agencies on the Company's behalf to arrive at a favorable solution.

Minimum Requirements:

Candidates must be actively pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering or other science-related field from an accredited college or university. Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher is required (on a 4.0 scale).

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position:

  • Applicant must be physically able to conduct field environmental investigations of sites where access may be restricted due to debris accumulations.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple work tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting.
  • Strong attention to details.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Self starter and requires little or no supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products.
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Ability to work effectively on multiple assignments.
  • Flexible and able to adjust to changing priorities.
  • Willing and able to perform other unrelated duties as required and learn new processes and technologies.
  • Knowledge of power generation fundamentals a plus.
