- Design, analyze, test, maintain, repair, or improve products, components, or assemblies
- Evaluate and optimize energy consumption for commercial buildings and applicable systems
- Interact with clients, contractors, and engineers
- Analyze, develop, and evaluate systems
- Improve and maintain current systems or create new projects
- Design and draft blueprints, visit systems in the field, and manage projects
- Collect, compile, organize, and analyze utility consumption data and rates
- Research utility rate changes and deregulated energy cost trends
- Evaluate utility energy-efficiency rebate and incentive programs
- Conduct energy benchmarks using tools such as EPA Energy Star
- Review utility invoices, resolve errors, and create utility budgets
- Collect, review, and analyze field-survey and utility data for energy audits
- Evaluate energy and cost-reduction improvements and develop technical reports
- Develop and implement IPVMP-adherent measurement and verification plans
- Develop energy-consumption baselines and adjustments using regression analysis
- Coordinate M&V activities with clients, utilities, analysts, engineers, construction managers, and commissioning agents
- Review design documents, M&E specifications, and shop drawings for metering-system compliance
- Verify facility utility performance and validate savings
- Create, maintain, and distribute M&V dashboards and reports
- Monitor energy, weather, and building-automation data
- Identify facility operational issues and recommend solutions
- Prepare reports for project stakeholders
- Develop engineering-based energy models for existing and proposed building/system operations
- Identify and evaluate potential improvement scopes with team members
- Develop life-cycle cost and other engineering economic analyses
- Document engineering calculations and methodologies
- Uphold company mission, values, and owner advocacy philosophy
- Perform assigned duties with minimal supervision in a team problem-solving environment
- Mentor and train Energy Analysts and Senior Energy Analysts as required
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- 3+ years of experience in a related field
- Registered Professional Engineer
- Experience with energy savings projects
- Experience with life cycle cost analyses
- Experience analyzing utility data
- Basic knowledge of commercial HVAC systems
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in other Microsoft applications
- Critical thinking skills

- Preferred: experience with energy modeling software
- Preferred: experience with building automation systems
- Preferred: experience with energy efficiency programs
- Preferred: experience with data analytics tools such as Microsoft Power BI, Python, Tableau, Jupyter Notebook, or R
- Preferred: CEM, CMVP, CEP, CEA, EEP, or BEP certifications through the Association of Energy Engineers or equivalent
- 5-10% travel to job sites/office locations
- Ability to climb stairs
- Ability to remain stationary, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
- Ability to perform repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- Ability to adjust and/or move objects up to 20 pounds
Demonstrates expertise in energy analysis, optimization, and project management, with a strong focus on energy efficiency and utility data analysis. Proficient in developing energy models and implementing measurement and verification plans while effectively communicating with stakeholders.
