JOB OBJECTIVE

To provide seasonal operational and guest service support for the Little Rock Zoo’s GloWILD event by assisting with guest services, attractions, parking and pedestrian operations, event entry, crowd flow, and other event-related activities, ensuring a safe, welcoming, organized, and positive experience for Zoo guests throughout the event. These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through the completion of eighth (8) grade.

Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

This position is not designated as a safety/security sensitive position and is not subject to random drug and alcohol screening.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be able to work in various weather conditions.
  • Certain assignments may require workers to possess a valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver's License before employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position.
  • Must be able to work different shifts, weekends, evenings and special events.
  • Must be available to attend required seasonal training.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Six (6) months of experience in customer service, hospitality, tourism, attractions, events, recreation, retail, entertainment, or public-facing positions.
Schedule and Availability Requirements

Must be available and willing to work a flexible seasonal schedule in support of the Little Rock Zoo’s GloWILD event, which is scheduled to operate on select nights from October 28, 2026 through January 3, 2027
.

Work schedules may include:

  • Weekday evenings;
  • Friday evenings;
  • Saturdays and Sundays;
  • Holiday periods;
  • Special event and/or private event nights; and
  • Event setup, training, and operational meetings, as required.

Applicants must be available to work a substantial portion of the scheduled GloWILD event dates. Preference may be given to applicants who are available for the majority of scheduled event nights.

Scheduled workdays and hours will vary based on the GloWILD event calendar, attendance, weather conditions, staffing levels, and operational needs.

Start Date and Required Training

The anticipated start date for this seasonal position is October 5, 2026
.

Applicants must be available to attend required seasonal training currently scheduled for:

  • October 10, 2026
  • October 17, 2026
  • October 24, 2026

Training may include:

Guest service expectations;
GloWILD event information;
Zoo orientation and way finding; emergency procedures and radio communication; crowd management and guest flow; parking and pedestrian procedures; attraction-specific operating procedures; accessibility and guest assistance; and weather and event safety procedures.

Employees must successfully complete all applicable training requirements before operating attractions or performing other duties requiring specialized training.
