Serve as the primary financial officer for the Association.
Performance Responsibilities:
ACCOUNTING
Lead the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, ACH, Wire Transfer, General Ledger and other traditional accounting functions.
Manage Payroll, Employee Benefits, and Onboarding Documentation
Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements
Identify, implement, document,, and maintain a strong system of Internal Financial Controls.
Maintain and report retirement account data and records.
Coordinate the preparation of the annual 990 tax return.
Coordinate the annual institutional audit.
Monitor and report Capital Expenditures and maintain capital budget.
General Ledger Account analysis and reconciliations.
Responsible for maintaining all financial records and the preparation and submission of financial reports for all grants awarded to AAEA.
Responsible for retaining all required financial records according to AAEA's record retention policy.
Monitor cash balances to both cover expenditures and maximize earnings.
Maintain current records of all active bank accounts.
Manage the monthly reconciliation of bank accounts.
Responsible for submitting a draft budget for the Executive Director to review.
Coordination of accounting software with membership software.
Process outstanding invoices and reimbursements in a timely manner.
Other duties as assigned
CONSTITUENT GROUPS
Maintain all required financial records for each constituent group.
Prepare all financial reports for board meetings for each constituent group leader.
Process conference registrations in a timely manner.
QUALIFICATIONS AND BACKGROUND:
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred.
EXPERIENCE
Quick Books experience is preferred.
Non-Profit experience is a plus; however, not required.
SKILLS
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
The ability to work proactively and to prioritize on a day-to-day basis to resolve issues.
The ability to maintain confidentiality is essential.
Excellent computer skills in Accounting software, Microsoft Suite and Google Suite.
The ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks with a high level of tact and diplomacy.
Willingness and ability to work as a friendly and productive team member will be expected.
