Position: Mortgage Loan Specialist II - Bilingual (Spanish-speaking)

Mortgage Loan Specialist II Responsibilities

  • Send out closing instructions to closing agents, prepare closing disclosures, and fund loans;
  • Accept lock requests from Mortgage Loan Officers and lock loans with investors;
  • Gather, verify, and compile application information for a mortgage loan, ensuring that file documentation and data are complete and meet established guidelines;
  • Act as liaison between borrower, loan officer, underwriter, and loan closer; collect required documents from applicants and follow up on missing items;
  • Order and review appropriate documents to ensure all paperwork is complete for loan; check appropriate data programs for accuracy and completeness of information;
  • Review lock requests from MLOs for compliance with current pricing model, lock loans with investors, obtain management approval for variances if needed; work with MLO on expiring locks, extensions/modifications, and requests to change with investor;
  • Review closing package and register loan with appropriate investors;
  • Prepare loan funding, send to accounting, and enter wire information into Jack Henry;
  • Ensure all departmental documents and activities are performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures, including completion of required compliance training;
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned;
Qualifications
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, general business correspondence and/or journals or government regulations;
  • Ability to write simple correspondence;
  • Ability to write routine reports and business correspondence;
  • Ability to present information in one-on-one and small group situations, to customers, clients and other employees in the organization;
  • HS Diploma/GED;
  • 1‑2 years mortgage processing preferred; experience closing, processing or shipping mortgage loan files preferred;
  • MS Office programs;
