July 17, 2026 The Fiscal Support Specialist position is responsible for the day to day operations of the cost allocation team's processes. This includes management of the random moment time studies and 100% time studies, which are used to determine cost allocation for various agency position. In particular, this position is devoted to the daily monitoring of the Employee Change Reports, adding or removing participants from time studies as needed.
This position also does most of the responding to time study participants' questions and needs. This position performs quality control checks related to position coding and time studies. This position also has light duty of processing 1026 forms, which establish coding for positions and other expense transactions, and assisting with review of data to set up the cost allocation process and of the results after cost allcoation has run.
Job Summary The Fiscal Support Specialist provides entry-level fiscal support within a department or agency. This role focuses on performing routine accounting and fiscal tasks such as data entry, processing invoices, and assisting with the preparation of financial reports and budgets.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist in processing invoices, payments, and financial records.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate financial records.
- Assist in the preparation of budget documentation and reports.
- Review financial documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Respond to basic fiscal inquiries and provide general support to fiscal staff.
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial management practices.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to learn and apply fiscal processes and systems.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Minimum Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent required; an associate's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred.
