JOB OBJECTIVE
To assist in the planning, implementation, maintenance and coordination of emergency response and disaster plans, emergency management programs and training exercises for the City of Little Rock.
This position is designated as a safety/security sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol screening.

These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management or a related area, two (2) years experience in an emergency management or related field, and one (1) year of experience in developing and maintaining emergency plans and/or programs. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS- Must complete certification as a Hazardous Materials First Responder – Awareness level as certified by the State of Arkansas Department of Emergency Management (ADEM)/State Emergency Response Commission (SERC) within one (1) year of employment and maintain certification for the duration of employment in this position.
- Must complete certification as a Hazardous Materials First Responder – Operations level as certified by the State of Arkansas Department of Emergency Management (ADEM)/State Emergency Response Commission (SERC) within one (1) year of employment and maintain certification for the duration of employment in this position.
- Must possess certification as Arkansas Certified Emergency Manager from the State of Arkansas Department of Emergency Management (ADEM) within three (3) years of employment and maintain certification for the duration of employment in this position.
- Must possess certification as Communications Unit Leader (COML) from the State of Arkansas Department of Emergency Management (ADEM) within two (2) years of employment and maintain certification for the duration of employment in this position.
- Must possess certification of completion of Incident Command System 100, 200, 700, 701, 702, 703 and 800 from the State of Arkansas Department of Emergency Management (ADEM) within one (1) year of employment and maintain certification for the duration of employment in this position.
- Must possess certification of completion of Incident Command System 300 and 400 from the State of Arkansas Department of Emergency Management (ADEM) within two (2) years of employment and maintain certification for the duration of employment in this position.
- Must possess a valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver’s License before employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position.
