Landfill Operator II

JOB OBJECTIVE: To operate a variety of heavy equipment in the preparation and maintenance of landfill space, roads and in other dirt or material work at the City Landfill.

This position is designated as a safety/security sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol screening.

These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through successful completion of one (1) year of service in the position of Landfill Operator A with the City, and one (1) year of lead worker experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

• Must possess Arkansas Division of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Level B Landfill Operator’s license before employment and a Class 2B license after one (1) year of employment and must be maintained for the duration of employment in this position.
• Must possess a valid Arkansas Class B (Commercial Vehicle) Driver’s License before employment and maintain licensure for duration of employment in this position.
