summary

the manager, pharmacy initiatives leads the identification, evaluation, and implementation of strategic initiatives that enhance pharmacy services across the healthcare system. This role applies market analysis, financial modeling, and operational planning to support growth and innovation in areas such as 340b, specialty pharmacy, infusion, and clinical pharmacy services. The position partners with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure initiatives are compliant with regulatory requirements, aligned with patient care priorities, and deliver measurable operational and financial results.

responsibilities
  • identify, evaluate, and advance strategic opportunities to expand pharmacy services across retail, specialty, 340b, infusion, and clinical areas.
  • conduct market analyses, environmental assessments, and feasibility studies to inform service line growth and innovation.
  • develop, analyze, and present business cases and financial models to support new programs, partnerships, and investments.
  • lead cross‑functional planning and implementation of pharmacy initiatives in collaboration with clinical, operational, financial, it, and compliance teams.
  • partner with payers and internal stakeholders to support contracting activities, reimbursement strategies, and market access initiatives.
  • establish and maintain strategic relationships with health systems, prescribers, manufacturers, and community partners.
  • monitor and evaluate program performance, return on investment, and alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
  • ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, payer, and institutional requirements, including 340b program standards.
  • track emerging trends in healthcare, pharmacy policy, and care delivery to inform strategic planning and decision-making.
  • provide oversight of high-cost medication management, including specialty, biologic, gene, and cellular therapies; ensure timely and accurate completion of prior authorizations (pa) and single‑case agreements (sca) to support patient access and reimbursement optimization.
  • lead and develop assigned staff, including the 340b team, overseeing performance, workflow efficiency, and compliance with regulatory and payer requirements.
  • perform other duties as assigned, supporting organizational needs through collaboration, adaptability, and a service‑focused approach aligned with arkansas children’s mission and values.
