Brief Description
The primary responsibility of the Environmental Services Float, Lead is to provide the highest quality of service to CARTI patients and team members while ensuring coverage continuity across all CARTI facilities. To fulfill these responsibilities, the Environmental Services Float, Lead provides direction, training, and schedule coordination for Environmental Services Technicians at various locations, filling in during staff absences, vacations, and temporary staffing needs.
The Environmental Services Float, Lead also performs the duties of an Environmental Services Technician, cleaning offices, bathrooms, lavatories, halls, food service areas, patient service areas, and any other area that may need attention across multiple CARTI sites. This position floats frequently to different CARTI locations based on business needs and coverage.
Specific Duties And Responsibilities
- Travels daily to assigned CARTI locations based on staffing needs, providing flexible leader and operational support throughout the service area.
- Fills in for absent lead and staff members, ensuring uninterrupted operations during vacations, sick leave, other absences, or based upon organizational needs.
- Maintains flexibility in daily schedule to respond to urgent staffing needs and last-minute coverage requests.
- Provides quality customer service to customers across all CARTI locations. Contributes to team efforts and exhibits professionalism with customers, fellow team members, and others.
- Handles non-routine/complex situations regarding department tasks at multiple sites.
- Trains new Environmental Services team members at various CARTI locations, ensuring consistent best practice.
- Monitors and oversees assigned areas across multiple facilities to ensure assignments are completed promptly and to organizational standards.
- Reviews, trains, evaluates, and leads team members and makes recommendations to the director.
- Conducts quality inspections at rotating clinic sites to maintain consistency in service delivery.
- Reports areas of concern to the Director, including site-specific challenges and opportunities for improvement.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for Environmental Services needs when traveling between locations.
- Coordinates schedules and coverage across multiple clinic sites in collaboration with local teams/leaders, and coordinates daily operational processes at multiple sites.
- Orders supply for department needs and monitors expenditures to maximize resources with Director's approval.
- Performs hands‑on environmental services duties including cleaning light fixtures, ceilings, vents, walls, furniture, windows, floors, carpets, restroom fixtures, nurses' stations, patient service areas, offices, lobbies, and waiting areas.
- Disposes of trash by prescribed guidelines and replenishes paper and plastic products.
- Moves furniture, supplies, and equipment; realigns furniture and amenities according to prescribed layout.
- Operates cleaning equipment including vacuum cleaners; pushes/pulls cleaning carts or flatbeds and carries buckets. Inspects and maintains equipment daily to ensure proper usage.
- Maintains equipment and wears protective personal equipment as required by the work environment or safety regulations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Must have a reliable source of transportation.
- Must be available to travel on short notice to provide support wherever needed throughout CARTI locations.

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, And REGISTRATION- High school diploma or G.E.D. (required)
- Valid and in good standing Arkansas Driver’s License (required)
- Minimum of one (1) year housekeeping experience; preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adapt quickly to different work environments, teams, and clinic operations.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Comfort with travel and working at multiple locations.
- Exceptional flexibility and availability to travel daily and respond to changing operational needs.
