Environmental Services Float (Biotech)
JOB SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility of the Environmental Services Float is to provide the highest quality of service to CARTI patients and team members while ensuring coverage continuity across all CARTI facilities. To fulfill these responsibilities, the Environmental Services Float will travel to various CARTI locations, filling in during staff absences, vacations, and temporary staffing needs. This is a floating position requiring daily travel between CARTI clinic sites based on operational needs.
The Environmental Services Float performs the duties of cleaning offices, bathrooms, lavatories, halls, food service areas, patient service areas, and any other area that may need attention across multiple CARTI sites. This position requires flexibility, reliability, and the ability to adapt quickly to different facility layouts and team dynamics while maintaining CARTI's high standards of cleanliness and patient care.
- Travels daily to assigned CARTI locations based on staffing needs, providing flexible leader and operational support throughout the service area.
- Provides seamless coverage during staff absences, vacations, sick leave, and temporary staffing shortages.
- Reports to designated supervisors at each location as assigned.
- Adapts quickly to different facility layouts, protocols, and team structures at various CARTI sites.
- Provides quality customer service to customers across all CARTI locations.
- Contributes to team efforts and exhibits professionalism with customers, fellow team members, and others.
- Trains new Environmental Services team members at various CARTI locations, ensuring consistent best practice.
- Cleans light fixtures, ceilings, vents, walls, furniture, windows, floors, carpets, restroom fixtures, nurses' stations, patient service areas, offices, lobbies, and waiting areas.
- Replenishes paper and plastic products.
- Disposes of trash by prescribed guidelines and replenishes paper and plastic products.
- Moves furniture, supplies, and equipment; realigns furniture and amenities according to prescribed layout.
- Operates cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners; pushes/pulls cleaning carts or flatbeds, and carries buckets.
- Maintains equipment and wears protective personal equipment as required by work environment or safety regulations.
- Communicates daily with relevant CARTI staff and leaders about cleaning and scheduling.
- Completes Daily Task Sheet.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Must have a reliable source of transportation.
- Must be available to travel on short notice to provide support wherever needed throughout CARTI locations.
No
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, and REGISTRATION- High school diploma or G.E.D., preferred.
- Valid and in good standing Arkansas Drivers License (required).
Minimum of one (1) year housekeeping experience; preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision and ability to adapt quickly to different work environments, teams, and clinic operations. Strong time management and organizational skills. Comfort with travel and working at multiple locations. Exceptional flexibility and availability to travel daily and respond to changing operational needs.
Excellent communication skills to effectively integrate with different teams and staff at various facilities.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or scheduled form.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLSMust interact and communicate both verbally and in written form. Must interact and exchange information regarding patients with physicians and other departmental personnel, and outside agencies frequently, while respecting the confidentiality of patient information.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee regularly is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
This position also may require frequent pushing and pulling of heavy objects and the ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
