Summary

Provides strategic and operational HR partnership focused on talent strategy, workforce planning, compliance, and employee experience specific to research environments. The Partner acts as a trusted advisor to research leadership, Principal Investigators (PIs), and research teams, while serving as a connector to HR Centers of Excellence to ensure tailored, compliant, and responsive solutions.

Required Education

High school diploma or GED or equivalent

Recommended Education

Bachelor's degree in a related field of study.

Required Work Experience Recommended Work Experience

Related field - 4+ years of progressive HR experience; experience in research, academic medicine, or grant-funded environments strongly preferred.

Required Certifications Recommended Certifications

Professional in Human Resources (PHR) – HRCI, SHRM-CP – SHRM

Description
  • Serve as the dedicated HR Partner to ACRI leadership, PIs, and research teams, providing research-specific, consultative support.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and workforce transitions for grant-funded, time-limited, and specialized research roles.
  • Advise on workforce planning tied to grant awards, renewals, closeouts, and funding changes.
  • Partner with research leaders to design roles, job structures, and career pathways that support sustainable growth.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations matters, performance management, and corrective action using a research-aware approach.
  • Partner with Research Administration, Compliance, Legal, and Immigration on grants, visas, effort reporting, and funding eligibility.
  • Interpret and apply HR policies through a research lens, recommending practical adaptations when needed.
  • Collaborate with HR COEs (Talent Acquisition, Compensation, Benefits, Employee Health, Learning) to tailor programs for ACRI.
  • Support change management, engagement, and culture initiatives that strengthen retention and performance in research.
  • Other duties as assigned.
