Compensation Analyst (Project Management) JOB SUMMARY

The Compensation Analyst plays a strategic role in designing, analyzing, and administering compensation programs within a complex healthcare environment. This position partners closely with HR, Finance, and operational leaders to ensure pay practices are competitive, equitable, fiscally responsible, and compliant with federal and state regulations. The role leads the annual performance review cycle, conducts market benchmarking and pay equity analyses, and supports job architecture and career path development.

The ideal candidate brings strong analytical capability, healthcare compensation experience, and the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations that support organizational talent strategy.

SPECIFIC JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Analyze, design, and administer base pay, incentive, bonus, and premium pay programs aligned with organizational strategy.
  • Develop and maintain salary structures, grades, pay guidelines, and compensation budgets.
  • Build and model compensation costing scenarios; prepare financial projections for merit, bonus, workforce cost scenario, and incentive cycles in partnership with Finance.
  • Lead the end-to-end annual and mid-year performance review processes, including planning, system configuration, communication, and calibration analysis.
  • Ensure performance ratings align consistently with compensation outcomes such as merit increases and bonus eligibility.
  • Conduct healthcare market benchmarking and salary survey participation, including job matching, submission, and results analysis.
  • Perform pay equity analyses and provide data-driven recommendations to address internal and external pay gaps.
  • Monitor market trends, emerging pay practices, and competitive pressures impacting clinical and non-clinical roles.
  • Advise HR partners and leaders on policy-compliant, budget-aligned pay decisions.
  • Evaluate new roles, promotions, and reclassifications; recommend grade assignments, job levels, titles, and FLSA classifications.
  • Maintain job descriptions, classifications, and salary grade structures to ensure accuracy and organizational consistency.
  • Partner with leaders to develop career ladders and advancement pathways supporting workforce development.
  • Ensure compliance with FLSA and applicable federal and state wage and hour regulations.
  • Monitor proposed compensation-related legislation and communicate potential compliance implications.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives, compensation committee reporting, and special projects as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, REGISTRATION

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field required;
Minimum of three (3) years of Compensation experience, required. Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation preferred.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including financial modeling, scenario analysis, and data visualization.
  • Knowledge of FLSA regulations and compensation compliance requirements.
  • Ability to interpret complex compensation data and communicate recommendations clearly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex compensation concepts to non-specialist audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and partner effectively with HR and leaders.
  • Proactive self-starter who anticipates business needs, identifies issues before they escape, and takes initiative without waiting to be directed.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management capabilities.
  • Experience with UKG Ready and/or Oracle HRIS platforms preferred.
  • High level of discretion and professionalism.
REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or scheduled form.
