AEDD has an immediate opening for a full time Human Resources Assistant. Immediate hire requires a valid Arkansas driver's license and proof of auto liability insurance. Criminal background checks and drug screens will be conducted. EOE/M/F
Job SummaryThe Human Resources Assistant supports the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources department functions and duties. The HR Assistant carries out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: departmental development, HRIS, employee relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, organization development, executive administration, and employment.
Essential Functions and Responsibilitiesinclude the following, other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible for maintaining the recruitment effort for personnel by completing employment advertisements, internal job postings, maintains online application software.
- Process applications, check references, drug screens, and schedule new hire and benefit orientation
- Coordinates and assists in employee mail-outs including quarterly newsletter, special event posters, etc.
- Assists in conducting New Hire and benefit orientation
- Assist with completing verifications of employment and workforce service reports and or audits.
- Completes Medicaid exclusion and additional Compliance reports monthly and maintains record binder
- Provides assistance with the on-site consumer(s) as necessary.
- Obtains visitor's name and notifies employee that visitor is present
- Conducts and maintains records for monthly fire and tornado drills
- Operates ESI telephone console to receive and direct incoming calls. Turns switchboard on at the start of the day and off at the end of the day.
- Distributes all incoming mail and messages; processes certified mail as requested
- Collect, process and email on-site consumer timesheets and data sheets;
- Orders, receives and maintains office supplies (i.e. business cards, letterhead etc.) Also responsible for maintaining Wal-Mart and Sam's list(s).
- Distribute acknowledgment cards/flowers as requested (i.e. birthday, sympathy, get well etc.)
Skills:
Prior knowledge of principles and practices of human resources desired. Prior experience with an HRIS database desired. Requires effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.
Education and/or ExperienceAssociate's degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
ComputerSkills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office software, specifically Word, Excel, Publisher and Outlook and Windows Operating system.
