Extra Help Position at University of Arkansas at Little Rock
The Department of Computer Science at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock is seeking candidates to fill its available Extra Help positions. The primary responsibility of an Extra Help Assistant is to provide professional-level support related to research and creative activities under the direct supervision of a graduate faculty member. This position is governed by state and federal laws, and agency/institution policy.
QualificationsRequired Education and/or
Experience:
- MS in Computer Science, or related field.
Preferred Education and/or
Experience:
- PhD in Computer Science, or related field, experience with grant funded projects, knowledge of AL/ML, Deep Learning, and Python.
- Resolves hardware and/or software problems in response to student participant (user) questions and requests for assistance by diagnosing the source of malfunctions, recommending corrective actions, and/or consulting with appropriate staff or vendor;
- Evaluates and makes recommendations for necessary adjustments to applications to satisfy user requirements;
- Assists in planning, preparation, and conducting seminars on software, hardware, network, or other related computer-related topics;
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of the limitations and use of PC, laptop, server, and integrated hardware;
- Knowledge of AI/ML, Deep Learning, and Python;
- Knowledge of current application software packages and programming concepts;
- Ability to evaluate, diagnose, and rectify software and hardware problems.
