Overview

A leading manufacturer is in search of a Logistics / Materials Manager. In this role you’ll be an integral part of this team’s inaugural and overall long-term success. You’ll develop, lead and manage teams in materials management, logistics and internal transport.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inventory & Purchasing:
    Managing raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to ensure optimal levels maintained for production; reduce storage costs.
  • Production Planning:
    Align material availability with production schedules.
  • Logistics & Distribution:
    Coordinate receiving, storage, and distribution of materials.
  • Data Analysis & Systems:
    Using ERP/MRP systems, forecasting, and data-driven decision-making to improve operational efficiency.
  • Promote a safety-first culture, enforce rules, and escalate violations.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and reduce internal defects.
  • Meet production volumes and delivery deadlines with flexibility.
  • Improve productivity, reduce downtime, and optimize resource use.
  • Maintain and improve cleanliness and organization.
  • Optimize logistics and reduce in-process inventory.
  • Train, schedule, and manage team performance and leave.
  • Monitor and reduce unnecessary energy consumption.
Qualifications
  • 4-year degree in Logistics, Materials Management, Supply Chain Management or related strongly preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing teams, safety and quality required
  • Automotive industry and/or heavy industrial manufacturing with hands-on experience in Logistics and Materials Management required
  • Strong working knowledge in lean manufacturing continuous improvement preferred
  • Experience hiring key positions and serving as a mentor for staff development
  • Proficient use of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Proficient use of inventory management and/or ERP software
  • Exceptional organizational skills, strong attention to detail with analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a cross-cultural team environment
  • Ability to travel internationally per business need for training and skill development
  • Bilingual in English/German preferred but not required
