General Maintenance

JOB SUMMARY PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists with and performs under direction of General Maintenance “A” in performance of duties
• Makes mechanical repairs
• Reads mechanical prints and identifies bearings by type, thrust, radial, pillow block, etc., and has a good knowledge of bearing and shaft fits. Disassembles gear boxes, identifies components per prints and reassemble
• Sets up and operates machine shop equipment in conjunction with repairs and parts fabrication
• Makes electrical repairs and/or assists with electrical trouble shooting, modifications and new installations
• Has some ability to read and trouble shoot from hydraulic prints. Repair hydraulic valves and pumps from manufacture spec sheets
• General knowledge of air conditioning and ability to check pressure, amperage, charge, and trouble shoot
• Performs maintenance welding such as that required to fabricate per prints or sketches that may also require using acetylene and oxygen torch
• Utilize safe work habits
• Wear appropriate PPE
• Comply with all NOV Company policies, guidelines and procedures
• Comply with all HSE policies, guidelines and procedures
• Comply with all Quality policies, guidelines and procedures
• Other duties as assigned

• Three years minimum of mechanical and/or electrical experience
• Must have established competence in two or more of the mechanical/electrical trades and be knowledgeable in two additional trades. (Millwright, Building Maintenance, Machinist, Electrical-Electronic, Hydraulic-Pneumatic)
• High School diploma or equivalent

• Ability to work overtime and shift work as required
• Standing up to 12 hours daily
• Walking up to 12 hours daily
• Bending/Stooping up to 12 hours daily
• Repetitive Movement (shoveling/sweeping/fastening) up to 12 hours daily
• Lifting weights up to 50 lbs. regularly
• Push/Pull up to 12 hours daily

• Ability to use hand tools correctly and safely
• Ability to adapt and be cross-trained to learn all job duties as required
• Ability to learn technical repair and assembly guidelines and procedures
