Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Performs specialized maintenance and repair services in either multiple crafts (such as electrical, carpentry, welding, plumbing, sheet metal, painting, and millwrighting), or in a single craft but with significant, specialized expertise. Has a sound understanding of the maintenance history of the building, equipment, and other facilities to be maintained.
Responsibilities- Support the Maintenance Supervisor in compliance with procedure policies, organizational goals, and applicable regulations.
- Maintain and repair all plant equipment and machinery such as Baghouses, Calciners, Fans, Pumps, Tubs, Tanks, Conveyors, Belt Dryers, Mills, Screens, Bucket Elevators, Blowers, Mixers, Extruders, activators and conveying systems.
- Maintain all tools to be used in the plant environment.
- Always work safely, wearing required personal protective equipment (safety glasses, steel toe boots, hardhat, earplugs, etc.).
- Report any unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
- Troubleshoot downtime or mechanical issues and communicate with the supervisor.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager and Production Department Head.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license.
- 2-3 years of plant mechanic maintenance work experience.
- Experience operating forklifts (preferred).
- Some welding ability (preferred).
- Ability to read and comprehend work and safety instructions and directions.
